Honolulu, United States
Never afraid to dive in, Jodie Jonson’s style navigates the dark and minimal side of Drum & Bass and explores bending transitions through to soulful liquid with some nasty bass lines thrown in to fire the crowd up. Her mission is to take you on a journey by telling a transformational story you can connect and free yourself to.
Jodie delivers. She infuses her love of energy healing arts into the curation of soul journey sets that weave beautifully between the many facets of the genre she loves. As a teen in the early ‘90s Jodie was captivated by the drum & bass scene and dance/rave culture that was rising fast in her native UK home.
She quickly found herself immersed in the sounds of who are now globally recognized as the pioneers of the era. Jodie earned her first monthly Drum & Bass residency over 10 years ago in Hawaii and has been holding it down ever since. Her passion for music and the community embodies her nurturing energy. She has made her imprint in the underground scene in both Hawaii and California.
Jodie has been a significant contributor to her Honolulu home for the past decade where she held 5 residencies, including an all female DJ collective, as a key player in the Drum & Bass scene. Now residing permanently in the UK after 15 years in the USA, Jodhi is more lit up than ever. She has had the privilege to open for some of her favorite artists over the years including Bachelors of Science, Ben Soundscape, NoFace Czar (Respect LA), Justin Martin, Mark Farina, Skapes, Ardalan, Joeski and more.
Most recently Jodie has been highlighted in an artist showcase on the San Francisco based legendary Drum & Bass show, Stamina. The show represented Jodie in recognition for her signings to record label CODE Recordings. Her first singles are set to be released in 2021.
