Keighto, grew up on the bass-driven shores of sunny Waiheke Island. After moving to Auckland in 2015 she immersed herself in the underground music scene.
10-years deep into a passion for DnB, Kate began her mixing career. Kate’s love for the scene continued to expand following an experience with Flava D at Northern Bass, finding a love for bassline, garage and bass house. Croatia’s colossal Outlook Festival cemented her desire for the decks.
The UK and Euro sound culture heavily influences her performances, with UKG (garage), breakbeat, dubstep, jungle and electro likely to grace your eardrums when Keighto’s selecting.
A selection of gigs from 2022 include: Opening for DJ Q at AV Club, Club 121 in Wellington with Teeth Clippers, Neck of the Woods with Sub Motion, Sweatshop Brew Bar with Glass Half Full & Bahvu’s Nightside.
Influenced by Chloe Robinson (fka Barely Legal), Pearson Sound, Ben UFO, Four Tet and DJ Rum, Keighto’s sets transition fluidly between genres. Keighto pushes the buck and guarantees gun fingers and bobbing heads.
